On March 12–13, 2025, the GALILEO project proudly participated in the European Industrial Energy Days hosted by ENLIT in Amsterdam. During a dedicated interactive workshop on March 13, the consortium engaged with industry leaders to explore how industrial electrification and flexibility can support the transition to a more sustainable energy system.
Using real-world reference cases from energy-intensive sectors, the GALILEO team facilitated discussions on the key barriers—technical, economic, operational, social, and regulatory—that currently limit industrial flexibility. Participants exchanged perspectives on the innovations needed to overcome these challenges, including market reforms, financing mechanisms, and new technical solutions.
The workshop also highlighted the role of sector coupling in enhancing system-wide flexibility and resilience. With strong attendance and active engagement from across Europe’s industrial and energy communities, the session provided practical insights and forged new connections to accelerate collaborative progress.
