GALILEO at Enerstock Online 2026: Energy Storage from the End-User Perspective

On 10 February 2026, the GALILEO project was represented at the Enerstock Online Conference, organized by the IEA Energy Storage TCP. Helena Gerard from VITO/EnergyVille shared insights developed within GALILEO on the adoption of new technologies and the role of energy storage in the energy transition.

The presentation, “Energy storage: a game changer for a system in transition, but what about the end-user perspective?”, highlighted how flexibility needs, grid constraints, and uncertain business cases are becoming decisive factors in industrial electrification investments.

While energy storage can be a game changer for the wider energy system, the discussion emphasized that its successful adoption also depends on understanding industrial realities and the end-user perspective. These insights contribute to GALILEO’s work on identifying practical pathways for industrial flexibility and electrification.
